Band Saw Blades

Bi-metal and carbide-tipped band saw blades engineered for continuous industrial operation.

Industrial Band Saw Blade Solutions

Industrial band sawing requires a delicate balance between blade flexibility and cutting edge hardness. Our bi-metal and carbide-tipped band saw blades withstand the extreme fatigue cycles of continuous sawmill and metal fabrication operations.

Bi-Metal Blades

Bi-metal blades combine a flexible, fatigue-resistant spring steel back with high-speed steel teeth. This construction provides exceptional durability for demanding applications.

Bi-Metal Advantages

  • Flexible alloy backing resists breakage
  • HSS teeth (M42 with 8% cobalt) for extended sharpness
  • Ideal for contour cutting and resawing
  • Cost-effective for general-purpose cutting

Carbide-Tipped Band Saws

For extreme cutting conditions, carbide-tipped band saw blades provide unmatched wear resistance and heat tolerance.

Carbide-Tipped Applications

  • Hardwood resawing (high-silica content)
  • Exotic and composite materials
  • Metal cutting in production environments
  • Frozen wood processing
  • Abrasive materials (MDF, particleboard)

Tooth Patterns

Standard Tooth

General-purpose cutting. Good for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood, and plastics.

Hook Tooth

Aggressive feed rate. Ideal for wood, plastics, and non-ferrous metals. Large gullet for chip removal.

Wider gullet spacing. Better chip clearance for softwoods and non-ferrous metals.

Variable Pitch

Mixed tooth spacing reduces vibration and noise. Excellent for interrupted cuts.

Blade Width and Thickness

Blade width determines the minimum radius for contour cutting. Wider blades provide straighter cuts in resaw applications.

  • Narrow (1/4" - 1/2"): Contour cutting, tight radii
  • Medium (3/4" - 1"): General purpose, balance of maneuverability and stability
  • Wide (1-1/4" - 2"): Resawing, straight cuts, maximum stability

Tooth Pitch Selection

Select tooth pitch based on material thickness and type:

  • 2-3 TPI: Large sections, resawing, soft materials
  • 4-6 TPI: General purpose, solid materials
  • 8-14 TPI: Thin sections, tubing, sheet metal
  • Variable: Mixed materials, vibration reduction

Welding and Repair

Our precision welding service creates seamless joints with proper annealing. We can also repair damaged blades including tooth replacement and body straightening.
