Free Pickup & Delivery Blade Sharpening Service for Greensboro, High Point & Winston-Salem Shops
Your blades are dull. Your router bits are toasted. You have a deadline. And the closest saw sharpener is 40 minutes away — one way. Carbide Saws Inc. has run free scheduled pickup and delivery routes across the North Carolina Piedmont since 1954. Here's how Triad-area shops get their blades sharpened, repaired, and returned without ever leaving the shop floor.

How Carbide Saws Inc.'s Free Pickup & Delivery Works
We've been running the same model for over 70 years: our trucks come to you. No shipping boxes, no freight charges, no driving across town with a crate of dull blades. You call us, we put you on the route, and your blades come back sharp — usually within 3–5 business days.
The Process
1. Call or request online — Tell us what blades, bits, or knives you need serviced. We log your shop into the next available route.
2. We pick up — Our driver stops at your shop, scans your tooling with our intake tracking, and loads it onto the truck. You get a receipt listing every item.
3. We sharpen — All work is done at our shop at 701 Garrison Street, High Point. Our techs inspect every tool, sharpen to spec, and flag anything that's reached end-of-life.
4. We call with questions — If a blade is too far gone to sharpen, or if we discover a problem mid-service, we call you before doing additional work. No surprise charges.
5. We deliver — Sharpened tooling comes back on the same route, usually within the same week. You get the same tracking list back, signed off by your tech.
There is no charge for pickup or delivery. You only pay for the sharpening, welding, or repair work performed.

Who Uses Our Pickup Service
The free pickup and delivery model is the backbone of our business. Most of the shops on our route have been with us for 10, 20, even 40+ years. Here's a look at who calls us most:
Furniture & Cabinet Manufacturers
High Point is the furniture capital of the world, and the surrounding Triad is home to hundreds of cabinet shops, millwork houses, and custom furniture builders. These shops run their saws and routers hard — production volume means blades go dull fast, and there's no time to load up the truck and drive to a sharpener. We pick up weekly, sometimes twice a week for the busiest shops.
Architectural Millwork Shops
The Winston-Salem and Greensboro millwork scene is substantial — from the historic renovation trade downtown to the new commercial construction corridor. These shops need custom profiles, intricate moulder work, and consistent quality that only an experienced sharpener can deliver. We do one-off profile grinding and ongoing production sharpening.
Cabinet Shops (Custom & Production)
From two-man custom shops in Kernersville to 50-person production houses in Burlington, cabinet shops depend on clean, sharp tooling. We sharpen router bit sets, panel saws, and edge banding cutters for shops running cabinet after cabinet every day.
Metal Fabricators & Machine Shops
Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and the surrounding region have a deep manufacturing base — metal fab shops, machine shops, and industrial manufacturers all need band saw blades, cutoff saw blades, and specialty tooling. We sharpen bi-metal and carbide metal-cutting band saw blades and handle broken blade welding.
Schools, Universities & Maker Spaces
UNCSA, NC A&T, UNCG, High Point University, GTCC, Forsyth Tech — the Triad's educational institutions run shops that need occasional sharpening. We work with school shops and university maker spaces on a project basis.
Hobbyists & Serious DIYers
You don't have to be a production shop to use our service. Plenty of serious woodworkers and metalworkers drop blades off at our shop or arrange a pickup. If you have one dull blade or a hundred, we'll treat you the same.

The Economics: Why Pickup & Delivery Saves Triad Shops Money
A Triad shop that tries to manage its own blade sharpening in-house is paying for:
- Grinding equipment ($5,000–$50,000+ for a decent shop)
- Diamond wheels, coolants, and consumables ($500–$2,000/year)
- Trained operator time (an experienced tool grinder costs $25–$40/hour)
- Square footage dedicated to grinding
- Quality control — bad grinds destroy expensive carbide
When you outsource to Carbide Saws Inc., you pay only for the sharpening. No equipment, no consumables, no operator downtime, no square footage. Most Triad shops save $15,000–$40,000 per year by outsourcing — and get better results than in-house grinding.
Our pickup and delivery model takes it a step further: you don't even spend an hour driving across town. Multiply that by every week of the year, and you're talking about dozens of recovered production hours.

What Makes Carbide Saws Inc. Different
There are saw sharpeners in the Triad. We know — we work alongside several of them. But our customers have been with us for decades for a few specific reasons:
1. We're a Toolsmith Shop, Not Just a Sharpening Shop
Most sharpeners can grind a saw blade. Fewer can weld a broken blade, fabricate a custom-length blade, retip a damaged carbide tooth, or grind a custom profile moulder knife from scratch. We do all of it — and we've been doing it for over 70 years.
2. Our Inspection Is Honest
If a blade has reached end-of-life, we tell you. We'd rather sharpen something four times and keep your business than lie about a blade being salvageable and have you come back angry. Our techs are paid to do the right thing, not to maximize per-blade revenue.
3. Free Pickup Means Zero Downtime for You
Other shops make you load up and drive. We send a truck. That's the whole point. You're paying for sharpening, not for a logistics headache.
4. We're Local and Accountable
Our shop is on Garrison Street in High Point. Our owners work here. Our techs live in the Triad. When you call, you talk to someone who can solve your problem — not a call center routing your call to a regional manager.
5. We Carry What You Need
We don't just sharpen — we sell CMT, Freud, Amana, FS Tools, Freeborn, and other premium brands through our sister site, Burnette Tools. Need a new saw blade or a replacement router bit while your tooling is being sharpened? We'll add it to the delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is pickup and delivery really free?
Yes. There is no charge for pickup or delivery on our scheduled Triad routes. You pay only for the sharpening, welding, or repair work we perform.
How often do you run routes?
Most Triad zones get weekly service. High Point typically gets twice-weekly service. Call us for the schedule in your area.
What's the minimum order for pickup?
There is no minimum. We'll pick up a single dull blade or a hundred. (We do ask that you accumulate a reasonable amount of tooling before requesting a pickup — typically a week's worth.)
Do you serve shops outside the Triad?
Yes. We run scheduled routes into the broader Piedmont and Coastal Carolina, and we accept shipments from anywhere in the United States. Visit carbidesawsinc.com/ship for shipping instructions.
What if my blade can't be sharpened?
We tell you up front. If a blade has reached end-of-life — usually because tooth height is too low, the plate is cracked, or the carbide is gone — we'll explain why and offer a replacement. We never charge for a sharpening we can't do.
Can I drop blades off at your shop?
Absolutely. Many Triad customers prefer to drop off and pick up at our shop at 701 Garrison Street, High Point. We're open Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Do you offer rush service?
Yes. Rush turnaround (24–48 hours) is available for a 25–50% surcharge depending on workload. Call us for current rush availability.
